Buona Pasqua

Hi everyone! Today is Easter and to celebrate I’ve made my Nonna’s traditional Italian egg bread. Growing up she always made these and gave one to every grandchild. Since I can’t be with her today I thought I’d keep the tradition going and make them for some of my friends here. With only sevenย ingredients, the bread is much healthier than most chocolate, marshmallow, candy etc. that you can buy in stores.

Ingredients: Egg, flour, sugar, milk, butter, salt, yeast.

Usually, a few days after Easter, we would slice the bread, heat in the oven and top with butter or margarine. Then, we would eat the bread with hard broiled egg in the centre.

Why the egg? It’s a symbol of new life.
