Incoming package from Tomomi

Tomomi sent me this cute little package from Japan. I absolutely love the Disney stamps and how she decorated the front. And inside… this goody pack was filled with some roasted green tea, coffee, a lovely letter and sweet wedding card. Thank you, Tomomi!10410963_680400715422804_8342053476084879974_n-1

Tea from The Netherlands!

Who doesn’t love getting individually packaged tea bags from half way across the world? Kelly sent these to me all the way from The Netherlands. I can’t wait to steep a cup for myself this morning. Thank you Kelly!

A Postal Experiment

I have so much 4 1/2″ x 6 1/2″ coloured card stock so I decided to make some mini envelopes. I found that these teeny pockets were the perfect size for tea sachets. Don’t they jazz things up? My inspiration came from Shelley’s fantastic Teacup Card post. I realized that I had quite a few varieties of tea so made more mini envelopes to put them in!

The envelopes can be used for notes or small extras, too!
I think I’ll save them for some outgoing mail.

Now here is my “postal experiment”. I call this an experiment because I’m not sure if the goods will arrive at their destinations. I decided to put the envelope and tea packet into cellophane packaging, sealed it and added a stamp. When I showed my mom she said “Are you sure that’ll make it in the post? Don’t they put each letter through some kind of machine?”
This worried me.

My hope is to send some unique snail mail to friends overseas and surprise them.
Fingers crossed! I hope they receive these little packs and will be able to sip some delicious tea from afar.

Healthy Alternative to Coffee

Okay, so I love my coffee but I’m trying to quit.

First, I decided to go decaf but wanted a more natural alternative. I drink lots of tea but it just doesn’t give me the same satisfaction as coffee does. I’ve also heard about Crio Bru, which is made from cocoa beans. I’d imagine this to be super delicious but the cocoa beans still have caffeine.

And caffeine is messing with me. Really, it plays around with my hormones and makes me a crazy person. Not to mention that it’s addictive. You can read more here.

I found this all natural, caffeine free instant beverage.

What’s in it? It’s made with roasted barley,
roasted malt barley, roasted chicory and roasted rye.

Could roasted grains possibly be as good as  the aromatic beauty of coffee?

The truth is, no.  It’s definitely not as good as coffee, but it’s not that bad and I hope it’ll wean me off my addiction. Otherwise this could be me.

Here goes, for this healthy alternative to coffee.

Wish me luck!
