Lots of Outgoing Letters

Today I’m sending out 8 cards. It’s been a while! I’ve finally had some time to sit down and write.

5 international, 2 domestic (Canadian) and 1 US. Sending to Debbie in the UK, Renate in Germany, Tanja in Slovenia, Rachel in South Korea and Thea in Australia. Then to Amber and Gabrielle, fellow canucks and Sarah in the US.

Soon to come… All the incoming mail i’ve received. Snail mail can be slow and we may not always get a response on time but it’s well worth the wait when we do get it, right? Thanks to all my very awesome and very patient pen pals!

Incoming Mail this Week

I am afraid I can’t keep up with all the incoming mail I’ve received this last week. I shouldn’t complain (I’m so overwhelmed by how awesome people are). Slowly I’m responding to everyone! Here is a preview of some stuff that made my mailbox very happy 🙂

Sarah (USA) sent her letter with two vintage postcards from the National Postal Museum. I also liked the Harry Potter forever stamp attached.

Another awesome stamp is this one from Kara (UK) which features a scene from “Bend it Like Beckham”. I love extra large stamps and this one is bigger than usual 🙂 woo hoo!

Sorry for the blurry-ness of these two photos (above and below)
Above: From Thea (Australia). I sent her a few blank postcards for a swap and one of them was an old library index card from my university. It just so happened that the book information on the card was related to her field (marine science). Who would have thought? Total fluke! So, she responded with a lengthy letter and three fantastic postcards.

Above: Dee sent me a letter from British Colombia with pretty stationery (that I have already used. It’s pretty!!) and a vogue postcard (starting to collect those).

Debbie made this envelope out of recycled paper. She’s so talented, really! I think her work is fantastic and I’m so happy that she’s one of my pen pals. Thanks Debbie!

Finally, my cousin out in Whistler, BC sent this local artist ad postcard. I am very excited to be moving out west at the end of the year.

I also received a letter from a fellow Torontonian (currently living in the same city as I am). She used some very pretty stamps to spice up her stationery. I have got to start doing that. It’s nice to have pen pals in Canada (as well as abroad). I’ve limited my sending to pen pal swaps instead of postcrossing. Although I do love postcrossing I’d rather send and receive from people who are interested in an ongoing correspondence.

Goodies from Theresa and Gabrielle

Theresa from USA sent me these very cool vintage postcards. In her envelope were also some Sandylion stickers (which take me back in time too) and a fairy/fantasy themed stationery set. I have started collecting vintage looking cards, especially the “vogue” postcards.

I also received this six page letter from fellow Canadian, Gabrielle. Her handwriting is just perfect and she also has artistic flair because of the cool handmade envelope. She included a postcard of  West Coast BC and I am so excited to witness the scenery firsthand. I will move there at the end of the year and I’m SO excited!

Incoming, Outgoing and Samples

I love samples, chocolate and vintage stamps and this incoming bunch was filled with just that!

Top left: A super sweet sample pack from Germany. Included: almond blossom salt and oil bath, Bio-acai cream and shower gel, organicum shampoo, a biomaris therapy mask (plus shampoo and intensive cream) and Speick natural shower gel.

Top right: A postcard from Margie (USA) and one from Germany that says “Chocolate doesn’t ask silly questions, chocolate understands”. Ironically, I have just started a cleanse diet. Ha!

Bottom right: From Sarah. This lady always sends incredible mail! I couldn’t believe that she made this stationery herself using vintage stamps. I also really loved the pretty envelope and postcards. My goodness! Definitely one of my faves! Thank you!

Bottom left: Outgoing mail to Sarah, Sher, Michelle and David (USA) and Elle (Singapore).
Sending or receiving… I’m not sure which I love more!

Incoming & Outgoing – May 16

Five outgoing pieces today:

One parcel for Jessica in California, USA. Actually, this one is a special “spring themed” swap for the Lovely Letters Snail Mail Exchange. She really loves Disney so I hope she likes the Mickey Mouse I attempted to draw and the secret goodies inside!

Also sending out four postcards.
To China, South Korea, Canada and India.

I bought the bottom right postcard at a little art studio in Phuket, Thailand. The lady working at the studio is featured on the card and her husband, Veerachan Usahanun is the artist. She told me that this was done before they were married. He also painted another image after they married where his wife was depicted in a very different way. You might not be able to tell in this image, but his fantasy portraits are extremely detailed.
I hope the receiver enjoys the card.

Yahooo! Eight pieces of incoming mail today!
3 letters: One from Sherry in Pennsylvania, USA.

A lengthy letter from Eve in Finland.
This one was beautifully decorated with washi tape and newspaper clippings.

And one from Amber in Kitchener, Canada.
There was a beautiful “Inspire” seal that she sent along with her pretty letter.

Agnesl in Latvia and Petza in Belgium.

Great mail day 🙂

Incoming Mail – May 6

Today’s incoming mail included 6 postcards.
3 from the US, 1 from Elena in Ukraine, 1 from Siying in Singapore and 1 from Nataly in Belarus.

The card from Nataly in Belarus (bottom right) features the day of Victory in the Great Patriot War (WWII) in 1941-1945 against the German Nazis. She wrote that there are very large celebrations for this and the stamp shows the national Belarusian embroidery. She used a stamp that says “Welcome to Belarus” with the white stork which is a national symbol.

I am also very grateful for the Art/AD card that I received (the card with the white flowers). The artwork was done by a little boy who is part of the “Children’s Art Project” which funds programs for children with cancer. The sender’s family donates to this cause and collects the art postcards. This just warmed my heart.

Question: what do you think the image is on the Singaporean stamp above?
I have absolutely no idea!
Always fun to receive interesting stamps and mail.
